Materials used and why they were used:
We decided to go for a black semi polished 600mm x 600mm porcelain tile. Velvet is all about low lighting, dark wallpapers, dark thick carpets and smoked glass so we decided black would fit in nicely.
We chose semi polished to give the floor a shine at the same time thinking about maintenance & safety. A full polished in a bar would've been dangerous when wet. This tile is already factory sealed so doesn't need sealing like most stone does.
This particular tile only came in certain formats ie 600 x 600 or 400 x 400 we were after giving the client the feel of one big flowing floor so the larger the format the less busy it will feel.
